Final Review

Morissa, Samuel, Olivia, Matthew, and Alicia,

Saturday will unfortunately be our final meeting. This will be a tightly coordinated day since we have a lot to accomplish. For this to work, you will need to complete the following before Saturday:

1. finish your final model

2. photograph it in the sun from the top and two sides, orienting and positioning your model in relationship to the sun to play with shadows that explore your ideas. Make sure it is a high resolution image and you fit the entire model in the frame. Make sure you have a light background which will show the shadows of your model (a black background would not be good since all light is absorbed.) Here is a good example. Today after school will be your best bet for sunshine. (Looks like rain the rest of the week)

3. upload these photographs to the blog** This is important for our process on Saturday.

Our class schedule will look like this:
1. We will go over the craft of documenting your work following the class (photography and scanning) 9:30-10:00am

2. Scale, organize, and project your model images into the Highline plan, longitudinal and lateral section. 10:00-10:30am

3. Site and trace architectural proposition into the Highline drawings. 10:30-11:30

4. Final Presentations (5 minutes each): Discuss your process of how you arrived at the form. What was your bodily programs that your form led you to? Present the concept of each project. How does your form relate to the program of the body? How does the form relate to the site? Did you align it for views? To change circulation? 11:30-12:50pm

5. Brent Porter stops in to disuses Pre-College Architectural Design

You will need to bring all previous work from this term in order to present:
-Your final model

-Your final performative line model

-all previous work: ink, grids, mapping, process photos of models, performance photos of models, sketchbook assignments.

Following the class, you will need to document work and upload it to the Blog for grading. This needs to be accomplished before May 13th. (Grades are due on May 14th.) If you need to email or Dropbox it to me, because you still do not feel comfortable with Blogger, that will be fine.

Look forward to this fast paced class on Saturday.
